The Founder ROLanda allaha Wilkins
RoLanda Allaha Wilkins is the daughter of Mae Blackburn-Newman Wilkins, the granddaughter of Alice Blackburn-Newman and Dorothy Relford, the great granddaughter of Georgianna Parks-Blackburn and Jane Anne and the great great granddaughter Winnie Parks who was an enslaved African in Fairfax County, Virginia.
RoLanda Allaha Wilkins is an innovative health program administrator, global community organizer, universal spiritualist, and traditional ancestral ceremonial leader. She works over 20 years in the area of women’s and adolescent health and wellness; specializing in youth development and leadership, international health & wellness, outreach, resources identification, communication and media productions.
She is the
Founder & Executive Director of Earth Mama Healing, Inc., which is
housed at Our World
Cultural Center. The
mission of Earth Mama Healing is to facilitate the empowerment and
leadership enrichment of girls and women with the overall goal is to
create emotional strong, socially smart and spiritually connect youth and
adults. This is done thru our WISEE
Queen Dream Institute programs. She
began her career as an assistant to the then founder and executive
director, Kathryn Hall-Trujillo of the Birthing Project.
She ended her 20 year employment with the Birthing Project as
Associate and Program Director where she created and managed Youth
Empowerment and Leadership programs. She
was also the former International
and National Coordinator of Birthing
Project USA (BPUSA), a national model for improving birth outcomes
for African American women. She provides technical assistance and
support to women, groups and agencies in starting and maintaining projects
in over 90 communities across the US, Canada, Honduras and Cuba.
She leads health delegations to Honduras twice a year as well
as produces community baby showers in New Orleans four times a year.
She has produced, written, and directed talk shows, documentaries and plays for access television for 6 years. She also managed SistaTreats, a series of holistic retreats and workshops for the caring and nurturing of the human mind, body, and spirit.
Over
six years she continues to produce the one day annual summit entitled “Growing
Wiser, Stronger and More Informed” to inform youth of African
Descent about the state of youth and challenge them change the direction
of the world by developing and implementing positive solutions and
campaigns. Rolanda’s mission
is to assist young people in dreaming a positive reality outside the world
they know, so they can make the world they want to live in. Rolanda Allaha
Wilkins has been awarded the State of California 2008 Woman of the Year by
State Senator Darrell Steinberg. She
received the 2009 Luminary Award by the National Association of Business
Women Owners of Sacramento. She was also recognized as a 2009 Hero
of Human Services Resolution, by the Board of Supervisors of Sacramento.
She currently lives in Sacramento, California.
